Superior Aquaculture’s Floating Raceway System is truly a “RAS within a Pond”.  The outdoor-based, highly simplified system has been proven to produce very high densities of many species, while maintaining a sustainable, healthy environment and capturing both solid and soluble raceway discharge.

When operated in a closed pond setting, the system is usually a zero-discharge system, without the need for periodic cleaning.  It has been listed as a “Best Management Practice” in North America.

While, in most cases, the system is best operated with electric power (WITH emergency back-up), It’s REAL source of power is solar power captured primarily by solar seeking, ever-moving, pond-based algae, and other plants. Empirical evidence suggests that the pressed algal oil collected from the system, plus the additional solids can be sufficient to yield a NET ZERO energy budget.

In short, the very storm-tolerant, almost indestructible system, is designed to serve as the mechanical ‘mother ship’ or operating platform for almost any or all of the many other functional components of a traditional RAS, biofloc, aquaponic, integrated multi-tropic, or aquamimicry practice.

The system can operate in both small ponds, and with the aid of more robust docks and wave attenuators, in medium to fairly high energy environments.
